The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face

Tabbed by Jamie Phillips ([email protected])

Artist: Bert Jansch
Track title: The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face
Album: Jack Orion
Tuning: DADGAD
Capo: Optional

This is a fantastic Jansch arrangement of Ewan Mcolls classic song which has been covered
by many artists. It is purely instrumental although Bert went on to record it with vocals
and a band on "Moonshine". I think this version is better though. You will definitely
need to work alongside the recording on this track as the timing and feel can be quite
tricky to get from the tab alone; the bars are of various lengths although it sounds
really natural and flowing when played. The number of beats in the bars are
5,4,4,4,5,4,4,6,4,4. The asterisks represent the beats.
