These is some exercises on how I leared my Four Way Coordination

Example 1-Pratice this only with your feet

Example 2-Then add a snare to the 2 and 4 of the beat
          and get your left hand working

Example 3-Or maybe add syncopated pattern to the beat

After I learned all this I would make up a solo, 
just stating on my Ride maybe just playing quarter notes and just 
biulding off of that. 
But this way you learn coordination and some hip grooves at the same time.
